As soon as I opened my order from Stampin’Up! with my Occasions Catalog 2018 order, I knew I wanted to play with the Brusho Crystal Color. This water based powder creates beautiful colors and interesting looks depending on how it’s used, and how much water is incorporated to the project.
I was excited to try it on an 6 x 6 artist canvas. I first used gesso to prep my canvas, and let it dry for a full day to be sure it was set. Keep in mind that the gesso will “reactivate” somewhat when it becomes wet, so your colors will not only dilute they will be mixing with the white of the gesso as well. Not as much as I thought it would, but some. I did use my heat tool in between layers in order to keep the colors from running together too much. I added my rose with black embossing powder and added the sentiment in archival black ink. So there are some different textures going on here as well. I then used some glitter dots and a bakers twine bow to finish it off.
Overall this was a fun project, and I enjoyed working with the Brusho. My husband has already put dibs on it!
